February 7, 2012 meeting--teacher committees examining each grade level ppr indicator and assessment aligned with ICC. Teachers are making note of areas that we do not have research-based assessments currently. By the end of this session, we will have identified research based assessments aligned with ICC and ppr. Our next session is March 8.
We will still need to develop specific tools/resources for items without research-based assessments. Making Meaning for vocabulary development seen as very beneficial. Questions remain about creating additional "piecemeal" items instead of a tight, focused curriculum. What does every building have/use now? What are most beneficial resources being used right now? Bring organizers-must create organizers...
Phyllis will contact 3rd grade teachers to provide support on this committee
by March date, plan to request F&P kits for each building--book sets, training yet this spring/summer, don't need kits--but need book sets for each teacher,
key ideas and details will need additional assessment options
by June 30 we will have ppr indicators for each grade level, summative assessments decided for each grade level and formative assessments aligned to Iowa Core, examples teachers have provided from the district, communication plan and professional development plan for staff and families (website, information, ppr jackets, etc)
proposal from committee (Laurene will take proposal to the Superintendency) for purchasing Level 1 and 2 F&P Benchmark Assessment book sets/kits? for each building to use for benchmark assessments to replace our district narrative and expository. Each building has at least 1 one these kits now to review. The proposal would be for pre/post and throughout the year use for benchmarks. CD of forms, book sets are included in the kits and the proposal.
During Summer 2012 build curriculum
